ABCDino Academy Waddler Classroom: Nurturing big feelings, brave steps, and growing independence
At ABCDino Academy, the fun (and the learning!) starts the moment your child walks through our doors. In the Waddler classroom—where little ones are officially “on the move”—we create a secure, nurturing environment that helps them explore confidently while still having the comfort and connection they rely on. Drop-offs receive extra support, gentle reassurance, and all the warm engagement your child needs before they’re ready to dive into play and make new friends.
A space made for curious movers
Our Waddler room is designed for children who are ready for more challenge than the infant space but still need the same level of loving care. This stage is all about big emotions, big milestones, and big discoveries—so our environment balances calm, predictable routines with plenty of opportunities to practice new skills.
Teachers narrate throughout the day, offering rich language exposure while modeling communication and emotional regulation skills. We read, sing, guide movement activities, and spend lots of time on the floor connecting and engaging eye-to-eye.
Early routines, gentle structure
This classroom introduces the first steps toward group experiences—short circle times, simple group activities, and beginning “work time” designed perfectly for their development and attention spans. Early self-help skills (handwashing, clean-up routines, trying utensils, simple choices) are practiced daily with patient guidance and positive reinforcement.
The space includes:
-
Individual cubbies/hooks for personal items
-
A dedicated activity area with rotating fine-motor and sensory lessons
-
A child-friendly bathroom area with low sinks and diaper-changing stations
-
A gross-motor playroom for safer indoor movement
-
A fully fenced outdoor playground for climbing, running, and big energy moments
Play with purpose
Waddlers thrive when learning feels like play—so every material in the room has a purpose. Lessons are chosen to build independence, confidence, problem-solving, and early communication. Activities blend:
-
Purposeful lessons: puzzles, cause-and-effect toys, sorting and matching, early practical-life work
-
Creative play materials: dollhouses, farms, pretend phones, dress-ups
-
Art exploration: painting, crayons, gluing, sensory art
-
Open-ended favorites: blocks, cars, soft dolls, stacking toys
Growing skills, gently guided
With consistent practice and caring reminders, Waddlers begin to understand early community expectations—choosing a work, exploring it with focus, returning it when finished, and respecting a friend’s space. They are capable of longer concentration than many adults expect, especially when they’re motivated and supported.
This room is full of imitation, repetition, joy, and discovery—where tiny humans practice being part of a group while still receiving the individualized nurturing they need.
From Our Parents
“We love ABCDino Academy so much! Our son enjoys going there, he’s obviously well cared for, and he’s learning new skills at an amazing pace. They’re easy to work with, kind, and genuinely care for the kids. He brings home cute art projects all the time and I really appreciate the app that posts photos and their activities throughout the day along with diaper changes, snacks, and naps. It feels like they’re part of our “team” for our son. ‘We’re so grateful to have found this place!” ~AM
I have been using this location for child care for over a year now. There is a great balance between learning and play. My children love going here and I have peace of mind knowing that they are well cared for by the truly amazing teachers. I am thrilled that this is now a preschool and my children can start their relationship with education in such a wonderful environment. CH (current parent using Dino since 2022)
Keeping your little Dino happy & healthy is our priority.
